How old do you have to be to play?
If you turn 18 by December 31, 2017 you are eligible to play in the EMBL. We have 2 age divisions- 18+ and 35+
How do I get on a team?
If you want to get placed on a team, email me at johngambs@mindspring.com or call 770 788 8077. You will be assigned to a new team or drafted by an existing team.
Where are games played?
Games are played at Newton HS and Salem HS. The finals of the tournaments are played at top area fields, such as Coolray Stadium, where we have played the last 3 years.
On what days of the week are the games played?
Most games are played on week nights starting at 7:30 PM. A few, including the All Star Games and Coolray Stadium tournament, are played on week ends.
When does the league start?
The pre-season tournament starts in April and the regular season around May 15 (14 games) and the playoffs, around September 1st.
How experienced are the players?
Most players have some background playing- rec ball, travel ball, high school, college, and a few, pro ball.
How fast are the pitchers?
In the 18+ league the pitchers often throw in the 80's; in the 35+ league, in the 70's or slower.
What is the cost to play?
The pre-season tournament cost is usually around $45. The regular season cost is $239 for 14-18 games (depending on how far you team goes in the playoffs).
How can I pay?
By credit card on the website, or by check or cash.
Are there other costs?
Players provide their own bats and helmets. Your uniform is an additional cost, which you can get through the manager of your team.
